Team Volare is ready for Berlin Marathon this sunday. With just a few days before the race, it’s time to update what we can expect for Sunday’s race.

With great weather predictions this Sunday fast times can be expected. Team Volare has 6 athletes at the startline: Mark Korir, from Kenya, is eager for a personal best. ‘My last race was the marathon of Seoul last April. It was a good one, because it was my comeback after an injury. I am looking forward to race in Berlin. It’s a nice race in a nice city. I ran 25K in Berlin in 2014 and I liked it so much. I’m very excited to race with Eliud Kipchoge. He’s a legend, an athlete of his own class.’ Marks personal best is 2:05:49. With his 37 years he has proven that age is just a number.

Besides Mark Korir we are looking forward to see Bekelech Gudeta, Nigsti Haftu, Guteni Shone and Tigist Abayechew participate. Bekelech Gudeta won the 2022 edition of Volkswagen Prague Marathon in a time of 2:22:56. With a good time in training, she is looking forward to attack her own personal best. Nigsti Haftu will debute in BMW Berlin Marathon after a solid season in roadracing. Nigsti won Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris (half marathon of Paris) in 67:37. Shone Guteni and Tigist Abayechew are completing the team and will be assisted by pacemaker Kibrom Haftu.
